With Valentine's Day not too far away, it's worth considering in advance how you'll show your appreciation and love for that special someone.

Gifts are a great way to express gratitude for a loved one but can often easily be a last minute thought that requires one’s cash or credit card. A card with a well thought out message can be that much more appreciated. The gift and a well thought out card would top things off!

Designing a Valentine’s Day Card

It is possible to create cards online with the use of software that allows the creator to choose the layout of the card, if it’s horizontal or vertical – or perhaps a postcard style may be of preference. The image can be personal, perhaps even a photo of you and your loved one or something else that shows how much they mean to you.

Following this, it’s possible to add a border or other graphics to your photo and create your own message inside. Perhaps there are particular words that mean a lot and you’d love to put these inside the card:

  • a quote from a book or movie
  • a scripture
  • lyrics from a song

Whatever you choose, it’s possible for this to be created and saved and then sent off to whomever it is for. The joys of doing this online mean that it can be created without having to go out and purchase a card and stamps and then find the time to write in it and finally post it.

Posting from Online

Once the receiver’s postal details have been entered online, it’s only a matter of clicking a button to send the card! And the best bit? The cost of the card and postage comes to around $1.50 US. This is much cheaper – and more time efficient – than going out to purchase a card. The added bonus of it being a unique card for your unique person is rather nice also.

Making it Personal

Store bought cards are wonderful, but it’s often the handwritten, personal note that speaks to the person receiving the card. People feel loved in different ways, depending on their love language. Sending a card in which the time has been spent on writing a personal message and creating a truly unique card can speak to those who’s love language is words of affirmation, gifts or perhaps even acts of service.

Whatever one decides to do for their loved one this Valentine’s Day, consider putting in the effort now so that it shows how much you truly care for your partner. It is this time and effort that will help them to feel truly cherished.
